Course Description

This three-day course offers a unique opportunity to explore how fascia influences canine movement. You will be introduced to the latest research on fascial anatomy and function, and learn how to apply the concept of Myofascial Kinetic Lines in dogs to your daily clinical practice. The course will cover fascial anatomy, function, diagnostic assessment methods, and various treatment approaches—both in theory and in hands-on practical sessions.

In most cases of dysfunctional movement patterns, fascial tightness or restriction plays a significant role. This approach will enable you to identify and address tension that complicates the diagnosis of lameness and back pain, and can interfere with therapeutic outcomes. In many cases, fascial release can be the key to resolving such dysfunctions.

The course also aims to bridge holistic diagnostics and therapeutic approaches with conventional orthopedic lameness examination. A solid understanding of fascial dynamics is essential in the field of rehabilitation as well.

Tove Due, DVM

Veterinarian with specialization in acupuncture, osteopathy, and homeopathy

Dr. Tove Due graduated in 1990 from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (Denmark) with a degree in veterinary medicine. Throughout her professional career, she has combined conventional veterinary practice with evidence-informed complementary approaches. She received her certification in veterinary acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) in 1994 and subsequently pursued advanced training in kinesiology, osteopathy, and classical Chinese acupuncture for human medicine. In 2016, she added veterinary homeopathy to her clinical competencies.

Since 2000, Dr. Due has maintained a private practice dedicated to complementary and integrative veterinary medicine, with a particular focus on acupuncture and osteopathy in equine and canine patients. She has developed and clinically validated a proprietary acupuncture approach targeting myofascial kinetic lines, inspired by her collaboration with Rikke M. Schultz and Professor Vibeke Sødring Elbrønd. Dr. Due is a frequent speaker at international veterinary and interdisciplinary medical conferences.
